Today PEM launched the design of the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning control system for Dubai Electricity and Water Authority's first Main Power Station, MPS1, for the Dubai Metro Project. The HVAC network for the dedicated substation comprises of 6 A/C package units distributed over 2 systems, each with an array of independent heating elements, motorized system and fire dampers, extraction fans, temperature, humidity and pressure sensors. Prime Electrical Manufacturing has also been awarded the contract for HVAC systems for both the second and third Dubai Metro Project substations.
PEM will provide the overall control for the systems and interface with all elements of the network, provide coordination for duty and standby operation, emergency shut-down in the event of a fire and manual over-ride options to allow for maintenance. This news comes months away from the official launch of PEM's dedicated Control and Automation division which will be handling this project.
